HOW THIS MODEL SCORES

Every Phoenix model is scored on the three things that actually change how a bat plays in your hands. Compare them against other models, not against a perfect score.

SwingabilityPowerForgiveness
  • P2

The dot shows how this model balances the three

Swingability How fast the barrel gets through the zone. Higher means a lighter, quicker swing.
6.5
Power Mass behind the barrel at contact. Higher means more energy into the ball.
2.9
Forgiveness How well mishits hold up. Higher means a more consistent result off the sweet spot.
4.3

P2 Baseball Bat Stats:

Barrel The diameter of the barrel at its widest point. A bigger barrel means a bigger hitting surface and more mass out front. 2.47"
Handle The diameter of the handle. A thinner handle whips through faster; a thicker one dampens sting and feels more stable. 0.93"
Knob The shape at the bottom of the bat. It sets how the bat sits in your bottom hand and how much it resists slipping. Traditional
Swing feel How the weight is distributed along the bat — balanced through end-loaded — which is what you actually feel in the swing. Precision
Best for The hitter this model was designed around. Get on Base

About this bat

THE DETAILS

About The P2 Wood Baseball Bat:

Meet the P2: the perfect hybrid of these bats-- a great bat for gap hitters who like a bat that's easy to swing, has just a bit of barrel weight for extra pop and just enough flare to ditch the need to tape it up. And being just a tad bit thicker in the handle gives it a tad bit more durability.

Created as a new model for 2012, the P2 Professional Series wood baseball bat immediately became a hit with many of the players from the first high school in the state of Ohio to exclusively swing wood (and yes, they all swung Phoenix). And, it's become the favorite of our staff, who put it best "Sometimes you just pick up a bat and, immediately, it just feels really good in your hands".

Typical user:

  • Extra bases hitter who wants a thicker handle and enough knob to catch his hand.
  • The hitter that wants a more durable bat, but with out the heavy swing weight.
  • Player that likes even weighting, and a little bit of handle flare.
