HOW THIS MODEL SCORES

Every Phoenix model is scored on the three things that actually change how a bat plays in your hands. Compare them against other models, not against a perfect score.

  • LA43

The dot shows how this model balances the three

Swingability How fast the barrel gets through the zone. Higher means a lighter, quicker swing.
1.4
Power Mass behind the barrel at contact. Higher means more energy into the ball.
6.5
Forgiveness How well mishits hold up. Higher means a more consistent result off the sweet spot.
6.7

LA43 Baseball Bat Stats:

Barrel The diameter of the barrel at its widest point. A bigger barrel means a bigger hitting surface and more mass out front. 2.50"
Handle The diameter of the handle. A thinner handle whips through faster; a thicker one dampens sting and feels more stable. 0.93"
Knob The shape at the bottom of the bat. It sets how the bat sits in your bottom hand and how much it resists slipping. Flared, Puck Knob Available
Swing feel How the weight is distributed along the bat — balanced through end-loaded — which is what you actually feel in the swing. Raw Power
Best for The hitter this model was designed around. Pure Power

About this bat

THE DETAILS

About The LA43 Wood Baseball Bat:

The LA43 professional player wood baseball bat is a Phoenix Bats design. A couple of year's ago, the powers-that-be in the Commissioner's Office banned the largest diameter maple and birch power hitter wood bats for Big League players with 2 years or less Big League time. Enter our modified LA43 Pro Series Game Bat -- an instant hit with players who craved the power but didn't want to give up the feel of their big-barreled pro wood bat. With a long barrel but average diameter handle, the LA43 wooden bat ends up very much end-weighted. This allows the LA43 to satisfy the need of the power hitter with a design that lends it to be more durable than a typical 243 wood bat model, including the Phoenix V243.

Typical user:

  • Power hitter who likes an average sized handle and a long barrel for more contact area.
  • Player that likes the feel of an end weighted bat, but without the massive barrel size.
  • Physically strong player who can handle the end-weight and has plate discipline.
